The Story Behind Award-Winning Tea
Did you know that one cup of white tea contains the same amount of antioxidants as 10 cups of apple juice?

That may be one reason tea sales are exploding for Teatulia even though they’re a bit more expensive than others.

But this company has something else people are connecting with:
Teatulia has lifted an entire village out of poverty with their business model.

By setting up a Co-op for the tea garden employees and the surrounding community, they put into motion a revolutionary education, health and cattle-lending program. The Co-op currently has 1000 members and is expected to quadruple in 2-3 years.

Every cup of Teatulia Organic Teas helps improve the lives of Bangladeshi people in need while rebuilding the local ecosystem…and that’s got people feeling good and talking about a tea that gives something back.

Their programs include:

  • Poverty alleviation through cattle rearing
  • Safe Hygiene Distribution
  • Distribution of Herbal and Medicinal Plants
  • Health and Recreation for the Youth
  • Adult Literary Education
  • IT Education

Teatulia is named for the region in Northern Bangladesh where the tea if grown. Natural farming practices of Japanese Master Masanobu Fukuoka are followed as are sustainable practices in all packaging. Even the silken pyramids that house the teas are biodegradable. There are some very unique teas such as the Organic Tulsi Infusion Tea (Tulsi is a revered herb in India and a cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine for over 5000 years, known for promoting wellness by enhancing the body’s immune system).

Teatulia’s Lemongrass Herbal Infusion was a winner at the recent North American Tea Championship and is available in Shop Ecology.
